Regarding the content, it seems evident that no only Trump but his advisors, speech preparers, and stagers know next to nothing about the mid-west farmers and residents. What may work for the wealthy who reside on another planet, has pretty much nothing to in common with the salt of the earth folks on farms. What a fiasco that arranged interview in so many ways.
Yes, this was an absolute mishap on behalf of the advance team. Before the President travels anywhere, there’s a team on the ground for days making these decisions. Obviously weather can be unpredictable, but it’s absolutely something that gets analyzed and discussed ahead of time.
When I worked for Pence, I was the one in DC helping clear all of this and asking the advance team the questions needed to make sure situations like that didn’t happen. This is definitely a rookie mistake.
